# Give your workers tasks from your own programs

Make an API key so your own programs can give workers tasks, follow their work and read what it cost.

Go to **Settings > API Keys** and make a key. A program that holds the key
can list your workers, give a worker a task, follow what it does as it
happens, and read what it cost. You can have up to 20 keys.

To hear when a task starts working or stops, open **Settings** and add your
server's address. Choose **A task starts working**, **A task stops working**
or both. Little Worker sends a signed notice to that address, so your server
can tell the notice is real. **Send Test Notice** tries it. You can add up
to 10 addresses.
