Sign-in codes now have 8 digits
The code in your sign-in email is now 8 digits long, and the web checks that a person is asking before it sends one.

When you sign in with your email address, the code in the email has 8 digits. A longer code is much harder for someone else to guess. Type all 8 digits on the code screen.
Before it sends a code, the sign-in page also checks that a person is asking, not a script. Most of the time you will not notice the check. Now and then it asks you to click a box first.
Signing in with Apple, Google or GitHub works as before.
